April, the month of blossoms and fresh beginnings, has me facing a challenge head-on: conquering my fear of social media. 📱
The Dance of Avoidance
I’ve danced around this task like a hesitant partner at a ball. I started strong—creating profiles, posting sporadically, and then… I stopped. The fear crept in—the fear of judgment, of not being “enough,” of shouting into the digital void. So, I pretended I didn’t need it. “Who needs social media anyway?” I’d say, as if it were an outdated relic. But deep down, I knew—I needed it for my coaching practice, for connection, for growth.
Half-Hearted Attempts
I’d peek at my dormant accounts, like a gardener checking on neglected plants. “Maybe tomorrow,” I’d promise myself. But tomorrow never came. I’d scroll through others’ success stories, feeling both inspired and inadequate. The gap widened between where I was and where I wanted to be. The irony? I coach others on bridging gaps, yet here I stood, straddling my own.
A Brave Step
Enough. I decided to take a step—a small one, but significant. I committed to posting once a week. No grand announcements, no fireworks. Just consistent, intentional sharing. I researched my audience, learned the art of hashtags, and crafted genuine content. And guess what? The world didn’t collapse. Instead, I connected with fellow coaches, entrepreneurs, and seekers of wisdom. My practice grew, not just in clients but in courage.
Why It Matters: Business Coaching and Personal Growth
Business coaching isn’t a one-way street. It’s a dance—a tango of mutual transformation. As I guide others, I evolve too. Social media isn’t just about metrics; it’s about authenticity, vulnerability, and expansion. It’s about showing up, imperfectly, and saying, “This is me. Let’s connect.”
